It may have been around for 22 years, but the public still can’t get enough of it! Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show… with Mickey and Friends! is a Disneyland Paris classic, which first opened in Disney Village back in April 1992. The biggest interactive show of all the Disney parks, the dinner-show has just celebrated a veritable milestone by welcoming its 10 millionth guest, paying testament to the timelessness of this one-of-a-kind production.

Bringing the Far West to Paris

Every night*, some 2,000 people flock to an elegant wooden theatre, complete with its own arena, where a world of prairies and ranches recreates all the excitement of the Far West. Mickey and his friends Minnie, Goofy and Chip ’n’ Dale encourage spectators to get involved in the interactive performance whilst witnessing how the West was won in the presence of numerous well-known names, including Buffalo Bill, Sitting Bull, Annie Oakley and the Rough Riders. This truly authentic action-packed show was inspired by the legendary touring show created by Buffalo Bill himself between 1882 and 1912, exploring the life of pioneers and featuring Indian rituals, rodeo stunts, bison hunting, a shoot-out with audience participation and, last but not least, the legendary stagecoach hold-up. What’s more, spectators can sink their teeth into some traditional Tex-Mex fare whilst watching the action unfold.

Celebrating the 10 millionth guest

A few days ago, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show… with Mickey and friends! welcomed its 10 millionth guest! It was the Reid family that helped the show hit that symbolic number, and to celebrate they were invited to enjoy an unforgettable ” VIP Western experience”: a souvenir photo in the arena with the dinner-show’s cast and stars, an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour, seats in a private box with VIP service, souvenir gifts and involvement in the show, all in the presence of Jonathan and Antonella, the Disneyland Paris Ambassadors.

According to Jean-Michel Van Den Nouwland, Director of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show… with Mickey and Friends!, reaching this milestone is a veritable triumph for all concerned: “Welcoming our 10 millionth guest is a huge milestone for the whole team. Some of our Cast Members have been working on this show right from the start – you can imagine how proud they are today! This success pays testament to the quality of our show and the fact it is something absolutely everyone can enjoy. The families who come to watch Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show instantly strike up a rapport with those involved in the production.”

An exceptionally realistic show

For the 50 technicians and 60 artists who bring this unique show to life, recreating an authentic experience is what it’s all about. Be it the animals, accessories or artists, nothing is left to chance. In-depth research was carried out when designing the costumes and accessories, and ancient tunics were even examined to get everything just so. The ultimate live show, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show… with Mickey and Friends! stars the very best horsemen, rodeo champions and some of the finest lasso throwers. Professional actors rub shoulders with real-life Indians from numerous different tribes, and notably the Blackfeet from North-West America, the Crows from Montana, the Sioux from Southern Dakota, the Crees from Canada and a handful of New Mexican Navajos.

How the West was won is a story that has always fascinated audiences. Today, this fascination is growing ever-stronger due to the penchant for all things ecological: direct contact with unspoilt nature, discovering unknown and breathtaking lands, and the omnipresent thrill of danger.

All in all, this enthralling experience is one that guests thoroughly enjoyed, with 81%* saying they absolutely loved it!
