Get set for the Inaugural Half-Marathon Weekend at Disneyland Paris like Paula Radcliffe!
The Inaugural Half-Marathon Weekend at Disneyland Paris in Val d’Europe is fast approaching. Paula Radcliffe is the ambassador for this dream experience taking place from 23 to 25 September 2016 and shares a few tips for how to run a successful first half-marathon!
This never-before-seen event will take place at Disneyland Paris and will include a mix of races for both adults and children. The weekend will be organized with the support of runDisney and its successful 20 years’ experience in staging running events at US Disney theme parks. Famous athlete and holder of the women’s world record time for a marathon, Paula Radcliffe will be participating “It’s such a great and unique opportunity; a chance to take part in a magical run here at Disney”.
The new three-day race weekend will involve kids races, a 5K family race, a half marathon, plus several family fun experiences such as a Health and Fitness Expo, a Friday night private party and a Saturday night pre-race « Rice Party ».
The Half Marathon will lead participants through Disneyland Paris and its surrounding countryside villages, making for a storybook run straight out of a fairy tale. Amazing courses, special events, family and kids’ races, a fun-filled celebration at the finish line and everyone’s beloved Disney characters cheering along the course will create a weekend of unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.

Inaugural Disneyland Paris Half Marathon – 25 September 2016
The half marathon will immerse participants in all of the Disney magic, leading participants through the two spectacular Disney Parks and then through the surrounding French countryside before circling back to Disney Village. Cross the finish line for a victory celebration and receive your exclusive Disneyland Paris Inaugural Half Marathon finisher medal. Disney Characters will be along the race course to cheer guests on and make the event even more magical.
Disneyland Paris 5K family race – 24 September 2016
Share the adventure as a family by running through Disneyland Paris and being cheered on by Disney Characters. Open to all including families with children from 5 years old, this is the perfect race for beginners, intermediates or even racing veterans aged pre-teen and older. This is a running event where families run through the two Disney Parks together before passing the finishing line with the unforgettable memories that have been created along the way.
runDisney Kids Races – 24 September 2016
A magical race for the youngest runners where children under 12 are invited to participate in a series of runs designed specifically for them. Parents can also run with their kids. The event will feature a 100m dash followed by 200m and 400m races. For older kids there is even a 1K and 2K race. Every participant will go home as a winner with their very own runDisney Kids Races Inaugural Event Finisher Medallion.
