On the occasion of Earth Month, hydrologist Emma Haziza – a PhD graduate from the Paris School of Mines and expert in water resources and natural risk management – spoke to Disneyland Paris Cast Members about the importance of the water cycle and the need to address climate change.

Did you know that 72% of the Earth’s surface is water-covered, yet only 2.8% of this water is drinkable?
Once viewed as an inexhaustible resource, water now reveals its fragility. Prolonged droughts, floods and global warming serve as wake-up calls, reminding us that we should not take water resources for granted!
In light of all these challenges, Emma Haziza held a conference to offer a new perspective on water. By providing tangible solutions and adaptation strategies, the speaker effectively raised awareness without turning the message into a moral lesson. Every Cast Member left the theater with practical advice on how to play a key role in addressing climate challenges!
While Earth Month is traditionally celebrated in April, Disneyland Paris’ commitment to environmental protection extends beyond a single month! As Europe’s top tourist destination, the resort places environmental awareness at the heart of its strategy all year round, organizing workshops, expert-led conferences, and clean-up initiatives both in its backstage areas and neighboring towns. More than 700 Cast Members have already participated in the Climate Change Fresco creation workshops – an impactful tool aimed at deepening their understanding of climate challenges and inspiring them to take action.
