March 5th, 2026 marks the fifth anniversary of the Disney animated classic, several references to which can be found in the royal restaurant of Adventure Way.
When Raya, the warrior of Heart, wants to take a break from her duties, The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge is the perfect place. Nestled between the gardens of Adventure Way and right next to Adventure Bay, it is the summer residence for Disney Princess Characters from distant kingdoms. The teams at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris found invaluable inspiration in the character and spirit of these esteemed figures, more than a dozen of which are featured in the restaurant’s decor.
The decorative porcelain plate
The first nod to the animated film can be found in the entrance hall, which serves as a connecting point between the restaurant and the lounge. Visitors can admire nine decorative porcelain plates, including one dedicated to Raya. This plate is decorated with the symbol of the Kumandra flower in the center, while its edges are embellished with silhouettes of the legendary Sisu and dragon scale motifs. These plates are the result of a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Royal Delft, the famous Dutch porcelain manufacturer and official supplier to the Dutch royal family, who hand-painted them.
The portrait
Past the lobby, you walk down a long hallway decorated with portraits of Disney Princess Characters to reach the restaurant’s Reception Room. Among them is Raya, depicted in an Art Nouveau style against a backdrop of ornamentation specific to this style, as explained by Bowie Faas, Principal Creative Producer:
“We wanted to make sure that the Disney Princess Characters were represented in a style that felt suitable for the restaurant. We therefore created these unique portraits in an Art Nouveau style, specifically designed for The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge. The princesses are surrounded by organic shapes inspired by natural and plant shapes, that are so typical of the Art Nouveau style. The result is sophisticated and blends perfectly with the setting.”The portrait is adorned with a carved frame featuring two golden crests representing the iconic flower of Kumandra.
The mural painting
At the end of this hallway, guests can discover the sumptuous Reception Room. A majestic mural stretches the entire length of the restaurant, facing large windows that offer breathtaking views of Adventure Bay. This mural depicts the Disney Princess Characters, as well as Anna and Elsa, in their everyday attire, enjoying a peaceful retreat in the forest, with The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge nestled in its center. Among these emblematic figures, Raya can be found on the left side, sitting on the side of a tree and playing with the Dragon Gem orb. It is a unique work of art, as it is rare to find so many Disney Princess Characters together in one place.
Through this enchanting scene, portraits, decorative plates, and many other details to discover, The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge honors Raya and iconic Disney Princess Characters, who will open the doors of their magnificent home away from home to everyone starting March 29.
