In Disney Wonders, Two Chandeliers Crafted by Exceptional Artisans

On September 22, Disney Village welcomed a brand-new shopping destination with the opening of Disney Wonders. Celebrating Disney heritage through an elegant and contemporary design, the store features a number of striking details, including two spectacular chandeliers showcasing more than 40 illustrations of iconic Disney Characters.

These bespoke creations were developed through a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Maelis, the contemporary lighting division of Manufacture de France, whose workshops are located near Toulouse. To bring the project to life, Maelis also worked with a network of local specialist workshops, drawing on expertise in photographic printing, engraving and lighting integration.

Designed as signature features of the store, the two chandeliers required extensive development to transform the creative vision of the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams into reality. One of the key challenges was recreating the magical Pixie Dust effect imagined for the space. Through a series of prototypes, technical trials and close collaboration, the teams successfully achieved the right balance between light, technology and visual storytelling.

The project also highlights the expertise of Corinne and Frédéric Colombo, who lead Manufacture de France, a family-owned company whose heritage in decorative lighting dates back to 1939. Through Maelis, they continue to develop a contemporary approach to bespoke chandelier design, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation.

Bringing together creativity, innovation and French craftsmanship, these two chandeliers have become a defining visual element of Disney Wonders, helping immerse guests in the story of the store from the moment they step inside.
