A sneak peek of the new gourmet experience at Boardwalk Candy Palace before it reopens on April 11, 2025!

Boardwalk Candy Palace, the go-to spot for sweet treats in Main Street, U.S.A.® in Disneyland® Park, is set to reopen its doors on April 11, following a complete refurbishment to offer visitors a new gourmet experience, now hosted by M&M’S®.

For the occasion, the shop has been completely redesigned, starting with its exterior façade, which features several nods to the M&M’S brand, including an elegant new window display depicting a boardwalk on a large, three-layered illustration, creating an illusion of depth.

The interior of the shop, which recreates the famous Atlantic City promenade, has also been enhanced with new decorative elements that play with the iconic attractions of the boardwalk:

The shop’s new floor is directly inspired by the seaside, featuring both shell motifs on a sand-coloured terrazzo floor and mosaics and colours reminiscent of the sea and the foam of the waves. On the ceiling, whimsical hot-air balloons – very fashionable at the turn of the last century – float in the air, notably in front of colourful frescoes depicting the sky, and made up of almost 35,000 M&M’S lentils.

The renovation was also an opportunity to rethink the layout of the shop and update the furniture to enhance guests’ shopping experience:

Specially-designed cabinets house 30 large tubes filled with M&M’S, allowing visitors to buy these candies in bulk as they please. The shop’s cash registers have been repositioned in front of the 9.15-metre-wide mural depicting Atlantic City on a beautiful summer’s day and are surrounded by illuminated columns filled with colourful sweets.

Finally, particular care has been taken to renovate the original paintwork, mouldings, columns and other decorative features, enhancing the space while preserving the original charm of the shop, which opened in 1992.

This major renovation of Boardwalk Candy Palace was made possible through a collaboration between the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Design & Delivery and Merchandiseteams over the last few months.

Did you know? The presence of a sweet shop in Main Street, U.S.A. has been a tradition across all Disney Destinations since the first Candy Palace opened at Disneyland in 1955.
