The kingdom of Arendelle will open its gates to the World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World in just 20 days, on March 29. But a kingdom would be nothing without its inhabitants! To prepare for the launch of the Snowflower Festival and bring the enchanting stories of this iconic land to life, more than 350 Cast Members have been selected to move into the kingdom of the legendary sister duo, Anna and Elsa, and become true Arendelle villagers.
“Dear friends, it is with great joy and emotion that I have the immense honor and pleasure of welcoming you here, to the heart of our kingdom of Arendelle. I extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you and congratulate you, for if you are here today it is because you have received the honors of the Crown and have become authentic villagers of Arendelle!”. With these words, Fredrik, royal emissary of Queens Anna and Elsa, opened the Celebration of the Villagers of Arendelle, to officially welcome the newcomers.
A few days before the official opening of the kingdom of Arendelle, its future inhabitants crossed the waters of the fjord and followed the paths of the North Mountain to settle in the village.
All shared the same goal: to dedicate their talent and enthusiasm to the kingdom and help welcome the many visitors expected for the launch of the Snowflower Festival on March 29.
The welcoming committee, composed of Queens Anna and Elsa, along with Fredrik, royal emissary, and the 2026–2027 Disney Ambassadors, Mónica and Agathe, prepared unforgettable surprises that showcased the legendary hospitality of Arendelle.
Under radiant skies, each new villager received an official name badge bearing their name, allowing visitors to easily identify them during the Snowflower Festival.
Oaken, the kingdom’s entrepreneurial craftsman, also joined the celebration, alongside several distinguished guests including Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris, and Christophe Murphy, Senior Vice President of Operations, who delivered a warm message to the newly arrived villagers.
But who are these new villagers? Who are the future inhabitants of Arendelle? Let’s retrace their journey together.
The preparations: Becoming a Villager of Arendelle
As the summer of 2025 was in full swing, the search for new villagers who would lend a helping hand in preparing the Snowflower Festival intensified.
The needs were many: numerous stewards and royal attendants were required to welcome visitors at Nordic Crowns Tavern, accompany them during their Royal Encounter at Arendelle Castle, guide them on their cruise to the Ice Palace, or carve toys and souvenirs. Thousands of candidates were auditioned by royal emissaries, but only 350 had the honor of being chosen to settle in the village of Arendelle.
With the arrival of the first snowfalls in the winter of 2026, the Royal Academy of Universal Development (also known as Disney University) organized preparation sessions to transform each of these candidates into the finest of hosts.
“This is a mission of the highest importance; it is the quality of our welcome that will make all the difference!” Fredrik added in a solemn tone.
On this occasion, Queens Anna and Elsa made their private dining room at Nordic Crowns Tavern available, along with their magical lantern, allowing the royal emissaries to immerse candidates in every corner of the village without them ever leaving their seats.
By the end of the session, after discovering the village’s history, legends, and customs, the candidates were fully prepared to settle in, integrate among the inhabitants, and contribute their talent to the launch of the Snowflower Festival.
The ceremony: Welcome to the kingdom!
The arrival of Arendelle’s new villagers made a lasting impression on everyone present. In a colorful procession, filled with laughter and joy, the new inhabitants crossed the bridge leading into the kingdom under the delighted gaze of the crowd, before arriving at the Friendship Fountain, symbol of the unbreakable bond of love between Queens Elsa and Anna.
A memorable musical moment elevated the ceremony even further. Gathered before the fountain, the villagers sang the anthem “Vueli” in unison. Their voices rose with strength and emotion, the refrains echoing through the streets of the kingdom and sealing the spirit of community that defines Arendelle.
To immortalize this magical moment, everyone gathered for a group portrait capturing, in a single radiant image, the smiles and pride of those present, revealing the vibrant enthusiasm of the people of Arendelle at the dawn of a new chapter.
